
Pichai Sundararajan or Sundar Picha (Indian-American business executive) is more well-known. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) for Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. When he moved to the United States, he attained an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in which he was awarded the Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a materials engineer. After a brief stint working for the management consulting firm McKinsey and Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 and directed the product management and innovations for a range of Google's client software products such as Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS and also being largely responsible for Google Drive. Additionally Pichai went on to supervise the development of various other applications like Gmail and Google Maps. In 2010 Pichai also revealed the open-sourcing for the new video codec called VP8 from Google and announced the new format for video, WebM. The Chromebook was released in 2012. Pichai, who oversaw the development of Android in 2012, added Android to the list of Google products.
